New Player Regulations & Application
 Players must be 57 years or older.
There are four age divisions, 57-64, 65-69, 70-75 and 75+, comprising 20 teams.
Players are normally assigned to teams in their respective age bracket.
The League schedule involves about 30 official games over the summer. Weekday games are played in the evening, weekend games in the morning.
Games are played on several fields in Chatham, Dennis, Harwich and Yarmouth.
Each player must bat in his or her turn and must play in the field at least every other inning. While some substitutions are allowed, players normally run for themselves.
Practices are held each Tuesday and Thursday in Harwich starting in April, weather permitting. Prospective players are invited to join the practices.
Tryouts are scheduled for April 19, 23 and 26, 2008. New players need to attend at least two of the sessions for evaluation prior to be assigned to a team.
A banquet is held after the season and there are two League meetings open to all players.
The League provides umpires for all games.
Players are expected to make a commitment to play the entire season and make a good faith effort to play every game. Players are required to sign a liability waiver.
Dues are $60. per year. Players receive a jersey, pants or shorts, a hat and socks. All players provide their own gloves and cleats (no spikes).
Many have their own bats, although it is usually possible to borrow one.
With few additions for safety, the League follows the slow pitch rules of the Amateur Softball Association.
The League also supports a travel team from each Division. They play in tournaments around the country. There are costs and further commitments required of players on these teams.
The League is foremost a recreational activity with safety the overriding consideration in all aspects of the game. Un-sportsmanlike conduct is not tolerated.
Policies are set by a twelve-member Board of Directors.
